Honda is updating an icon of the 80s for 2023 with a new folding scooter – and this time its gone all-electric.
If you were around in the 80s, you might recall the Honda Motocompo – a scooter briefly available in Japan and able to fold away into an easily-portable rectangle.

The little scooter contains a 6.8Ah battery, allowing for around a 12-mile range and a top speed of just 15mph. Honda say it will charge back up in three-and-a-half hours.
But its not what it does on the road that makes the Motocompacto stand out – its what happens when you reach your destination. Here, the scooter can fold away, turning from a scooter to a suitcase which weighs in at around 19kg.

Honda announced last week that the new scooter will be available in the US from November 2023. No word yet on when or if we’ll see it on the roads of the UK. In the US, it’ll go for $995 (or around £800).
