by

Riders of scooters over 15 years old can gain free entry to the ’Normous Newark Autojumble and Ford & Scooter Classic Day on Sunday, August 9, with the Nottingham Ford RS Owners Club also confirming an impressive display.

Scooter riders will have an added incentive to head to Newark Showground this August when the ’Normous Newark Autojumble hosts a special Ford & Scooter Classic Day.

The event takes place on Sunday, August 9, 2026, and owners arriving on eligible classic vehicles can attend free of charge.

Riders of scooters more than 15 years old will receive free entry, while drivers of Ford cars over 20 years old will also be admitted without charge.

It gives scooter owners the opportunity to ride into the event, become part of the day’s display and enjoy the usual huge selection of autojumble stalls, classic machinery and enthusiast attractions.

Scooters take their place at Newark

Scooters will form a key part of the special theme, with riders encouraged to bring along eligible machines and help create a strong display at the showground.

Whether restored to original specification, regularly ridden, customised or preserved as a long-term favourite, scooters over 15 years old will qualify their riders for free entry.

The event should provide a good opportunity to meet fellow owners, look over a varied selection of machines and browse for parts, accessories, tools, clothing and memorabilia among the indoor and outdoor trade plots.

Ford RS display confirmed

There will also be plenty to interest scooterists with an enthusiasm for classic and performance cars, as the Nottingham Ford RS Owners Club has confirmed that it will attend.

The club is planning to bring a wide-ranging selection of Ford RS models, including a Mk2 Escort RS2000, Escort RS Turbo Series 2, Escort RS1600i, Mk6 Escort RS2000 and Escort Cosworth.

A Sapphire Cosworth and Mk2 and Mk3 Focus models are also expected to form part of the display.

The line-up will offer visitors a chance to see several generations of Ford’s sporting machinery together, from the rear-wheel-drive Mk2 RS2000 to the turbocharged Escort and Cosworth models and later performance Focuses.

While scooters remain central to the day, the RS display adds another attraction for visitors whose interests extend across the wider classic and performance vehicle scene.

Autojumble favourites

Alongside the special scooter and Ford displays, the ’Normous Newark Autojumble will retain all the attractions for which it is known.

Hundreds of indoor and outdoor plots are expected to offer motorcycle and scooter parts, restoration supplies, tools, workshop equipment, accessories, clothing, memorabilia and assorted bargains.

There will also be classic cars and motorcycles to see around the site, making the event a broad day out for enthusiasts as well as a useful destination for anyone searching for parts or inspiration for a current project.

With free admission for riders arriving on scooters over 15 years old, a dedicated scooter presence, an extensive autojumble and the newly confirmed Nottingham Ford RS Owners Club display, the August gathering promises plenty to explore.
