Scooter World kicks off 2026 in style at Newark Showground

by

A packed weekend at Newark Showground, where engineering obsession met long-distance heroes and smoke-filled fire-ups…

Scooter World at Newark Showground has quickly carved out its own identity: a full-on scooter-focused hub inside a much larger show, with enough variety to keep you bouncing between stands, stories and start-ups all day.

Scooterworld 2026

Yes, there are shiny builds and glossy detail to drool over in the show area, but what really makes Scooter World feel like a great show to start the year with is the sense that you’re surrounded by people who’ve actually used their scooters in anger – whether that’s on the drag strip, across Europe, or through thousands of miles of club and rally riding.

On the show floor there was plenty to stop you in your tracks. Norman Ronald’s Vega drew a steady crowd, with Norman happily walking visitors through the details behind the scooter component by component.

Nearby, the Milan–Taranto machines told a different tale. Built by Dave ‘Waddo’ Waddingham and then ridden in a 1500km event, they give those scooters real credibility beyond the polish.

And for anyone who likes their Lambrettas served with a side order of “how on earth did you do that?”, Steve ‘Red’ Clarke’s 400cc conversion delivered exactly that.

Rotax-powered Lambrettas also put on a strong showing, with ‘Mr Granturismo’ Richard Taylor displaying an array of tuning and development parts, along with talk of an ambitious twin-engine project that already has people looking ahead to Scooter World 2027.

Add in Steve Holt’s hard-charging sprint scooter, Tracy Slowley’s road-going ‘Kermit’, and Adrian Punnet’s carbon road build, and you had a stand that buzzed all weekend.

Then came the Fire-up Hall: owners on the mic, scooters lit into life, and a haze of two-stroke smoke thick enough to make photography ‘interesting’ – but absolutely worth it for the spectacle.

Another fantastic year for this packed-out show, and a great way to start 2026.
