The Signatures, Northern Soul – a band name that most people should be familiar within the scootering community. Established in 2009, the Essex based band originated as Mod Life Crisis – a favourite in the early years for many scooter rallies including performances at Mersea Island, Hayling Island, Run to the Rum, Sid James as well as many others.
The band have since established themselves as the UK’s leading live Northern Soul act. On their journey they have had the pleasure to play with some of the greatest original Northern Soul artists including Dean Parrish, Nolan Porter, Tommy Hunt, Sidney Barns, Gloria Jones, Chris Clarke, Eddie Holman, Jimmy Thomas, Brenda Holloway, to name a few!
The Signatures are currently embarking on a UK theatre show tour with Wigan Casino favourite “Lost Summer Love” Lorraine Silver.

The band recently performed back at The Big 7 National Scooter Rally, Kent.
“It was great to be back playing at a Scooter Rally, it’s been a while and I think a lot of people thought we had stopped playing at Scooter Rallies, which couldn’t be further from the truth. With cancellations due to Covid, our re-bookings and schedule have made it look like we’re only doing theatres and festivals, but believe me, the band is very much still part of the scootering scene”, says drummer and band manager, Gavin Creates-Webb.
The band have also established themselves as a favourite on the UK festival scene with recent outstanding performances at Stone Valley, Retro Festival and working alongside many 80’s acts such as Paul Young, Banarama, Go West at 80’s Party In The Park. To round off the gigging season for the year, they’ll be hosting their Mallorca Northern Soul Weekender in October with The Flirtations, Lorraine Silver, John Valero from the The Twisted Wheel, Wigan Casino Founder and DJ, Russ Winstanley as well as guest slot appearances from some exceptional Northern Soul DJ’s – fantastic!
