CABERG DUKE H LEGEND

Being a lifelong fan of Arai and Shark helmets (currently using a Shark Avenger) I’m stubborn when it comes to changing brands. However I’ve been looking for a while now at flip front helmets with integrated sun visor, and Bluetooth intercom options. So when this Carberg Legend came up I jumped at the chance. The helmet is well equipped with all the usual vents and pinlock visor fittings one would expect from a modern mid-price helmet, and the Matt/Flou colourway is on the money. The shell size feels a little large compared to my Shark, but overall initial impression is favourable, especially being in the sub £200 bracket. Being a safety buff it’s also pleasing that The Duke has a dual EC homologation as both a full-face helmet with the flip-up closed and as a ‘jet’ helmet with the flip-up raised. Wind noise is on a par with my much more expensive Shark, and fit is very comfortable. My only short-term and noticeable criticism is that the sun visor is somewhat shorter than what I’m used to, and the lower edge sits right in my line of lower vision. Time will tell if this proves to be a deal breaker for me.
