SIP adjustable sports levers
By: Web Editor
SIP Scootershop has recently launched a selection of adjustable sports levers for various models of Vespa, the adjustable part referring to the cable length.
The lever with a clutch/brake adjuster allows easy set up of the clutch and the front brake cable, one lever being suitable for either side of the handlebars. The set-up uses a thumbscrew at the top of the lever and you can adjust the cable as you sit on the scooter, by up to 1.5cm according to SIP (I’ve not measured it). SIP sent us some to try and it must be said that when fitting new cables, it is a lot easier to make final adjustments at the top end rather than crawling back down under your scooter again. However, out of four levers we received, two needed a little drilling before one of the thicker clutch cables I had could be threaded through. It’s quite simple to remove the piece from the lever (watch out for little bits trying to spring off into the universe as you undo it!), and run a drill through it, but it would have been nice to not have done it at all. That said another clutch cable and front brake cable were fine.
Available in polished aluminium or black the levers retail at around £10.50 each. www.sip-scootershop.com
