Isle of Wight Scooter Rally 2013 & 2014

VFM would like to offer many thanks to all the pro-active scooter riders who attended this year’s Isle of Wight scooter rally.

Isle of Wight Scooter Rally 2013 & 2014

The atmosphere was brilliant, probably one of the best IOW rallies we have done for years. We must also pay tribute to the amazing journey made by three South Africans and an American from Capetown to the IOW. Eight months on the road, riding standard LML scooters – food for thought, eh? The IOW is truly an international event with folk from all over the world in attendance.

Our heartfelt thanks also to all those scooter folk who manned the gates and worked the do's. The rally couldn’t take place with out their genuine love of scootering, enthusiasm and hard work.

As for next year... well, contrary to what a taxi driver in Sandown may have told you, or any rumours you may have read on Facebook pages or internet forums, spread by armchair scooterists who have nothing better to do than live their life through a USB port, there are no plans to abandon the Isle of Wight as a scooter rally venue in 2014.

Various meetings are in the pipeline and we can confirm that plans for next year’s August Bank Holiday are already under way. Once again the rally will be based around Ryde with the camp site at Smallbrook Stadium (which following on from the recent improvements, has planning in for further works to be carried out over the closed season, including hopefully by next summer a new shower and changing area). We will of course be publishing any news and further information in Scootering magazine, on our website and in the BSRA pages as it happens, so as the old saying goes; watch this space!
