Ginger”s 25th anniversary Easter Egg Run
As scootering traditions go, Ginger’s Egg Run must be one of the longest standing and best attended events out there. This year was a milestone event as it celebrated its 25th anniversary. Can you imagine how many poorly kids have been cheered up as a result during those years?
Things have changed a bit for Ginger’s Egg Run in the last few years. For one the old familiar meeting place at Lowton has been knocked down so a new venue in nearby Leigh has been found (a good replacement it is as well). Secondly Pendlebury Children’s hospital has closed so a new destination had to be found, that being the brand new and shiny Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital right in the heart of the city. It’s so smart that local kids are jamming saucepans on their heads and breaking arms just to get in there!
Ginger’s Egg Run may be a traditional pre-season event but the weather we were greeted with certainly wasn’t. The skies were blue and temperatures were into the 20s as I set off on the 90-mile journey to rendezvous with the Stockport Crusaders at Mike Phoenix Scooters in Denton...
